  • To be aware of main aspects of sustainable forest management (environmental, social and economic pillars)

  • To know aspects of environmental impacts of forestry relevant in their position (e.g. biodiversity, soil protection and erosion control), and relevant ecosystem services

  • To know principles of growing stock and its increment in forests under different management regimes (in relation to carbon sequestration issues)

  • To be able implement all aspects of sustainable forest management relevant and affected by their position

  • To be able implement environmental dimension of forestry into their activities

  • To be able ensure traceability in that part of value chain which is relevant in their position (according the EU Timber regulation, forest certification and other initiatives combating illegal logging)

  • To perform their tasks in such a way that their (green) job has to be a sustainable job

  • To be aware of climate change impacts on forestry now and in future under possible climate change scenarios

  • To be able implement all aspects of sustainable forest management relevant and affected by their position

  • To be able to implement environmental dimension of forestry into their decisions

  • To be able to take into account climate change impacts (current and future) into their decisions

  • To take care of their workforce by making sure that conditions are good all along the chain of custody and raising the profile of forest workers (according to International Labour Organisation all green jobs must also be decent jobs)

  • To be able ensure traceability of the whole value chain (according the EU Timber regulation, forest certification and other initiatives combating illegal logging)

  • To perform their tasks in such a way that their (green) job has to be a sustainable job
