ABOUT THE PROJECT

GREEN E.Th.I.Cs - Green Experience through Theatre Inspiring Communities is a large scale Social Community Theatre project, funded by the 2021 Creative Europe Program. The project is developed by an interdisciplinary partnership made of 18 partners and 64 associated partners in 12 European countries. Among the partners, there are theater companies, universities and research centers, cultural hubs, social organizations, and public institutions.

Green Ethics develops cultural initiatives of civic engagement to create awareness on the issue of climate change and promotes critical thinking and proactivity of European citizens with respect to the European Green Deal, through the arts and in particular theatre.

PROJECT GOALS
GREEN SHIFT OF THE CULTURAL FIELD: make sustainability a central theme for professionals, providing technical infrastructures, protocols, and skills
CULTURAL GREEN PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT: involving European citizens in artistic processes, enhancing critical thinking, and providing accessible scientific information on climate change.

The project involves 110 European cities in 12 EU countries: Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Poland, Latvia, Bulgaria, Serbia.


2 INNOVATIVE FORMATS
The GREEN E.Th.I.Cs LIVE Game: an interactive theater performance on environmental issues that uses the performing arts to promote critical thinking and involves the public in the creation of contents, making them an active part of civic action. The game is developed in 3 formats: LIVE Game, BOARD Game, ONLINE Game.
Cycling powered Theatre: a prototype that can fully power a stage with a cogeneration system powered by bicycles operated by the public, which raises participants' awareness on co-sustainability through an experiential approach.
